Life - Telly Tuesday Chrismas Spesh

It being the week following the festive period one must divulge ones sentiments towards this years Christmas televisiual offerings! (is that upper crust enough??)
Downton is not full of guns, blood and fisticuffs (apart from the war episode, or the one where Lord G whacks Richard E. Grant, or the various shooting jaunts! Ok there's a fair amount of it!), but what it does provide is a chance to imagine yourself decked out in 1920's charm using wit and charisma to get yourself through any situation - if only that could work in the modern world!
The episode begins with the Crawley's visiting Rose and her new hubs plus the Sinderby's in a bloomin' castle! Must remember to Google that pad! One word out of the snobbish Butlers mouth and I knew Thomas was going to get involved! I was not expecting Lord Sinderby to lash out at our boy though, I had hoped that would lead to another example of the Crawley's standing up for they own, but that came in the form of acting as protective hen towards Branson.
I adore the look that wafts across Lady Mary's face when a new potential one night stand appears! Quite the modern woman stuck in the wrong era! Loving her hair - although too drastic for me!
The Bates' predicament is quite the doozy! My bets are that it was infact some complete dark horse who pushed the rotten scoundrel... Hughes?
Speaking of, I was shreiking with sheer joy when Carson proposed!! That is romance and needs to be bottled and sold... that'll buy them every B&B in Thirsk if they wanted it!

I'm still ploughing on through Made In Chelsea (Season 3). Current views.
  • Who is Lucy, when will she be leaving and will Jamie just slap her already?
  • Millie and Rosie vs Victoria aka 'dog-gate'... best ever! "Herbie doesn't like other dogs'"
  • Season 3 Francis has gone strange! They obv tried to change his image away from 'suit man' but now the hippy cardi's over the shirt, unshaven on a skateboard look, pining over Sophia and awkwardly flitting his eyes around when he doesn't know how to respond to something makes for cringe viewing!

Life - Telly Tuesday

Until now I've been a die hard TOWIE follower, however that show is on a break & I have been in need of some sofa fodder!
Many friends have mocked my telly choices and favoured Made in Chelsea over TOWIE so being one who follows a crowd I've started to indulge!

I freakin' LOVE IT! Like totes way more than TOWIE dah-ling!

As writing I am starting season 3, thoughts so far
- Millie/Hugo/Rosie. Rosie is a poster child bitch! Like what kind of a girl intentionally flings herself at her 'best friends' new man?? Not surprised with the end of season 2 bombshell, how Millie dealt with it (via a microphone dressed as a 20s goddess) was totes how I'd sort out business!! I think cod I know Hugo is slimy so no attraction there. I think because I know Millie has now married Professor Green I was just waiting for that relationship to crash!

Caggie/Spencer. I love Caggie's look, especially the oversized denim shirt ensemble. I can totes see why Caggie's kept Spencer going, who doesn't want a rich fancy broker pining over them? When other women came into it though (Funda, Louise) that's when she should have made a decision. I've just seen that Caggie's has come back from Aus with another mans initials tattooed on her, so the Cags/Spence tousle is going to start again!

Ollie. Nothing but 'because you're worth it hair flicking' love!

Gabriel. Cannot stand! The underbite. The stalker streak. The inability to make new friends!

Next telly Tuesday I'd imagine will be Downton/Strictly/Christmas central!

Life - Christmas wishlist

1. Yankee Candle. No 6. http://bit.ly/1JIzi5N
Coconut and Pineapple. Double wick with 80hrs burning time! I really like the clean look of the packaging.
2. Magimix 4200XL BlenderMix. http://bit.ly/1zNTy0r
I always say that if I had the right tools I'd cook more. Well this will slice, chop, mix, kneed, grate and beat... that's all the tools I need!
3. Tesco 3 piece bistro dining set. http://bit.ly/1zoEhoR
I'm tidying up my balcony over the hols to make room for something like this, gotta make use of the London views!
4. We Are Dorothy 'The Cool Cat Collection' Artwork. http://bit.ly/1EK1W3a
I saw this in an article in the Jan edition of Glamour. The prints are LP sleeve size and I know Ikea have perfect frames. Plus - cats!

Look - Christmas wishlist

1. Bond No 9 China Town. http://bit.ly/1zNOclA
Quite an extravagence, but I've been hooked on this scent since visiting the counter in Harrods!
"Notes: Peach blossoms, gardenia, tuberose, patchouli, cardamom"

2. Office Coolcat Almond toe tan suade boot. http://bit.ly/1sQ4ANm
For someone that is only 5ft tall I just cannot do heels! Tried these and managed 2 laps of the shop without falling! And went really well with my blue jeans. Bored of always in black boots.

3. Levis 'The Legging' in Station. http://bit.ly/1zoAHeH
Don't be put off by the legging title. Tried these on in the outlet store and they feel like stretchy, proper denim jeggings, not imitations. A good high waist too, no crack attack!

4. Clarisonic Mia 2. http://bit.ly/13r10CB
A friend brought hers over when she stayed recently and was singing its sonic praises! I still have bouts of teenage skin even in my late 20, anything that helps!

Christmas pamper

I was lucky enough to receive a Nails Inc 'Heavenly Hands' voucher, which I saved up for a Christmas treat ready for the work xmas do and the big day itself.
The voucher was worth £30 and then I paid £8 extra to get a 2 week gel manicure and the Bluewater Nails Inc inside of House of Fraser.
After a bit of a shaky start (my technician broken down so my appointment was pushed back an hour & half - not a problem in Bluewater!) I picked out 'Old Bond Street gel effect' and purple glitter on my ring fingers.
At Nails Inc they use their own gel polish as a base, their normal gels on top then topped with another layer of their gel polish, all with the UV lamp in between.
I've had Shellac gels before in cheaper high street nail salons. This photo was taken a week and two days after my appointment and there is definitely less grow out than I've had before, I think that's down to the care she took on removing my cuticles and getting the colour right up to the edge of the nail.
Because of the lateness of my appointment the manager gave me a free gift set of polishes - bingo! She then offered the loyalty card scheme they had available - if you paid for your next appointment up front, you'd have todays star ticked off, the next would be ticked off at your pre-paid appointment and number 3 would be free. So after some quick partitioning and recombining (teacher talk!) in my head that worked out that I'd be getting 3 gel manicures for the price of 3 because I was also using my gift voucher! Bigger bingo!!
The girls in the Bluewater shop were lovely depsite it getting very busy and some very demaning customers, certainly will be the store I'll make the journey to from my place in SE London for my next appointment after Christmas, I'm thinking subtle sparkle nude?

Welcome to my distraction!

As a teacher in an inner London primary school, this girl needs a hobby!

Teaching is a stressful job! My outlet is scrolling through Bloglovin', Youtube and Pinterest for beauty, decor and work inspiration, this will be my attempt to gather what is inspiring me!
